Ingredients
- 1 355ml can Dr. Pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons corn starch
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Liquid Smoke optional
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes optional
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in a large pan with a whisk.
- Turn the heat to medium-high, and bring to a simmer, whisking often. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until thickened.
- Serve with pork, chicken, beef, or almost anything! Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for 3-4 weeks.
Notes
Be patient - keep low heat to keep from burning the sugar
You can swap out Dr Pepper for coke/root beer/etc
Use leftover condiment bottles to store homemade sauces
