Installation
Mac Mountain Lion (OS X 10.7) and Maverick (OS X 10.8)

Installed gfortran binary for Mac OS X from here: http://r.research.att.com/tools/
As before, installs gfortran to /usr/local/bin/gfortran
Mac Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6)
