Ingredients

  • 1 355ml can Dr. Pepper
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Liquid Smoke optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes optional

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a large pan with a whisk.
  • Turn the heat to medium-high, and bring to a simmer, whisking often. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until thickened.
  • Serve with pork, chicken, beef, or almost anything! Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for 3-4 weeks.

Notes

Be patient - keep low heat to keep from burning the sugar

You can swap out Dr Pepper for coke/root beer/etc
